Painting cars-adding PCX files...

by LARRY RO » Wed, 09 Aug 1995 04:00:00

Perhaps I've missed previous discussions on this topic but could
someone explain how to use the great cars PCX files I've seen. For
example there was recently a CocaCola car and a new Pace Car both in
PCX format. They look great but how do I add them to my field? Also I
saw a message saying that NeoPaint was a good program for painting the
cars. How is this done? I thought this was only possible with PaintKit.
     Anxiously awaiting your suggestions...

        Regards,
        Larry

Painting cars-adding PCX files...

First of all go to the paintkit.  Then select the car that you wish to
replace with the new car you have.  Select that car and push the export
button.  Now exit out of paintkit.  This is all done most easily through
Windows because you will have the Nascar directory right there when you
exit paintkit.  Anyway, after you have exited you will see a pcx file
like nasc94.pcx or whatever the name of the one you exported happens to
be.  Now get the new car you want and rename it as the car that you
exported like nasc94.pcx.  It will now replace the car you exported in
the Nascar directory.  Now go back into the paintkit and select the same
car again and this time you select import and bango there is your new
car.  I know it sounds difficult but once you get the hang of it its no
problem.  It's basically export, replace, import.  Hope this helps, if
not tell me and I or someone else can try and explain it better.
