Just upgraded to Directx 9a and GP4 will no longer start. It tells me
that DX 8.1 must be installed! CMR2 & MOHAA work fine. Any ideas?

Yep ! No prob !
Change your shortcut and let it point to gp4.exe directly. That should do
the trick...
