calibration with the MSFF?

by Matthew B. P. Knutse » Mon, 11 Oct 1999 04:00:00

This may be an idiotic Q;
With my now deceased T2 I used to be able to get HIGH values when
galibrating in GPL (several hundred somethings) and now I get mediocre
numbers. I'm a bit frustrated as it feels like the FF pedals are more
switch-like, the brake is okay I guess, but the throttle is just awful!
Have I missed something really important, or have I just lost the touch?
:-)
I mean, I keep losing the cars out of corners in 4th!

Thanks for any info!

Matt

I had the same problem with my MSFF wheel. but the i started using seperate
axis on the pedals and then the numbers got twice as high.
you can change that in the joystick settings

Hi Matt,

I'm afraid I can't offer any solution, but to just keep trying. I have a
new MSFF to replace my old TM F1, and I'm having the same trouble. It's
taking me a lot of time to adapt, but I think in the end I'll get used
to it :-)

Feather touch, feather touch, feather touch :-)

Yea, I guess it's an adaption problem. I am using split axis, but it feels
like the throttle is "dead" for the first 50% of travel, then goes "on".
Argh!
I mean, I've spent insane amounts of time driving with my old T2, and now
I'm stuck 2-3 secs off my previous pace (mind that was 1.0).
Hmmm. :-)

Well there was no way I could adjust with those pedals. so I just used
my old pedals on a USB adapter and all was fine.

Have you got the pedal range of motion set to 'Max' in the Settings section
of the Profile Editor?

And "squashballed" the brake pedal :-)
