Following an announcement at the Xbox Summit 2005 in Japan, Namco has made
an offical announcement that Ridge Racer 6 will drift to Microsoft's Xbox
360.
The new sequel is said to be developed for the Xbox 360 to take full
advantage of the system, with multiplayer functionality, unprecedented
vehicle control, and top visual and sound effects.

The final game will include high-defintion support, a variety of online and
offline modes, and features like versus battles and downloadable content.

The company did not say whether the new Ridge Racer entry would be exclusive
to the Xbox 360. Namco previously released the Ridge Racer exclusively on
Sony's Playstation consoles, though several entries have made their way to
other consoles.

The release date for Ridge Racer 6 is to be announced.
