Pedal Solution in GPL...

Hi all...I am quite happy with my Logitech wheel and FF. However those
pedals need some help. Tried all the tricks, now I am thinking of purchasing
a new set of pedals. What make would you all recommend? CH non pro pedals
have been mentioned. Anybody using these? Do they calibrate easy on a
standard game card or does one need to upgrade to say a PDPI L4 card?

Any other makes worth mentioning. RRC looks good but there is a 6 month
wait. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance...

I have the CH Pro pedals, but the normal CH pedals will do fine. The
Pro pedals have an extra forward/backward sliding movement used for
controlling the rudder in flight sims.
I've got my LWFF plugged into a usb port and the ch pedals plugged in
my joystick port, works perfect.
Don't forget to put a squashball under the brake pedal!

I have the CH non pro and wired them to my logitech, because some games
don't support multiply controllers (although GPL does :-). works
perfect! you might want to make the brake pedal a bit harder, which I
archieved by attaching a *** band.

I also use the CH Pedals (non-pro) with my Logitech in GPL and love them.  They
have a large range of motion which is exactly what you need in GPL.  You can
make very minute changes under braking which makes a world of difference. They
don't have much resistance though, so the squash ball trick under the brake
pedal is a good idea.  I plug them into my sound card's game port (a Dell OEM
version of the Turtle Beach Montego).  Even though this is a digital gameport,
it is pretty noisy under calibration (this seems to be the fault of the
gameport, not the pedals, as the results are similar with other input device).

In summary, I highly recommend the CH Pedals for use with the Logitech and GPL.

I'm very happy with the crude pedals/hinge cludge I came up with.
I would up with 2 3"x9"x1/2" hardwood pedals mounted to hinges that are screwed
into the Logitech baseplate, about 3 inches from the stock pedal risers.
I've also cut off the front of the stock pedals, and mounted a pair of 3/4"
ball-bearing-equipped nylon wheels to reduce sliding friction at the new/old
pedal interface.
(These wheels are usually used to suport sliding screen doors, and come with a
~2 1/2 inch metal bracket complete with***holes.)

Depending on your browser font it should look something like this....

                             /
                           /
                         /O =
                      /     "
                    /       "     <-------- Old pedal(s).
                 /          "
----------L------  " ---------
                ^
          "L" =   Hinge

After playing with it for a few weeks, I'm now trying to figure out how to add
strong, progressive springs to my creation.
As it stands, the pedals are immensly more useful. I'm playing GPL, NL, and
Carmageddon2.

FWIW,
        Greg
