N4 Camera's

N4 Camera's

Just had a thought..  Watching the replays of some exciting race is
something I do once in a while.  In GPL I started, along with many others,
editing the TV camera's to capture some of the action from different views.
Unfortunately each race is completely different as well as each lap.
Watching a replay in N4 I found out that by pressing the Space bar I can
eliminate the VCR controls and the other information viewed to have an
unobstructed view of the race. The way to bring that information back is to
again press the Space bar. In the mean time there is no mouse pointer or
even mouse control.  So, I had this thought...

What if while we are in the full screen mode we had control of the
cameras through the mouse?  Something like Left click for Zoom in, Right
click for zoom out, mouse movements moves the camera?  Then when we switch
back to the viewable VCR controls and what ever, The mouse would work as
normal with the pointer. Or something such as that to give us more dynamic
control over the camera's without having to continually edit them per race.

Just an idea or suggestion for NASCAR Racing 5, or WSC, or...?

I think you can use the "c" shortcut while the controls are hidden. It
advances the view to the next sequential view (tv1, tv2, spectator, etc...)

This is true but it's still the static camera views.  It's a real bummer
watching a great pass and in order to see a crash a few car lengths behind
that I have to switch from this camera to that camera and switch from this
driver back to that, to the next, to the next till I finally see what I'm
after.  Even then I can only see what the static camera allows unless I want
to edit the camera files.  But then I'd have to edit them for each and every
lap if you know what I mean.  What I'd like to be able to do is to stay with
the current camera watching the pass, then pan back to the crash and be able
to zoom in or out to see what's going on.

It should be easy to implement a first person shooter type of movement and
control for the replays. I would like to have this feature! It might expose
some graphical glitches though - at least in GPL I think.

Great idea Michael and I was thinking on the same lines but how hard
would this be to re'program into N4 so it would work like this?
