Problems with Graphics and add-on GPL tracks

by Wayne Stell » Fri, 01 Jun 2001 15:33:52

Can anyone help?  I get images of grass, tires, dashboards in a couple
of the add-on tracks in GPL, namely the new Lemans, Solitude, and
sometimes Goodwood.  I am running an overclocked Celeron 566 at 707 Mhz
and a Voodoo 3.  My GPL 1.2 is heavily patched with Bruce Johnsons 3do
upgrades and some old GPLEA upgrades.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Your graphics card is running out of texture memory.  The only solution is
to reduce the amount of textures displayed.  You can try reducing the detail
bias but you may have to get rid of some add-ons and use lite versions of
tracks where available.

Of course you could also buy yourself a news graphics card.

Cheers

Try using George Smiley's glide wrapper.  Its at the GPLEA web site; its called
something like 3dfx Patch-O-Matic.  Follow the directions carefully to make it
work.  It fixed similar problems with my Voodoo 3.
