Is there a trick to getting a TSW wheel to work in this game? I can get the
brake and wheel to work, but the accelerator and buttons are a no go. Does
split axis work in this game?

I dont think so - seeing 'reverse' is bound to the brake pedal !

Split axis works in the game...

Works perfectly fine with my Thrustmaster ferrari FF.

Gamepad works the best. I have a Momo Force which worked well with it but
the gamepad I have works better.

Lots of complaints and bugs regarding this game. Controller calibration is
awful.  IMO EA took a quantim leap backwards.  I have the same issue with my
tsw. Lets hope a patch is forthcoming.

I'm sure it was designed for a gamepad in the first place.  I tried a Momo
Force w. the game and never could get it to work right.  But with NfS:U's
hopelessly arcadey console origins, I found I could drive just as well w.
the keyboard.  The graphics are amazing.  Pity abt. the rest of the game
being so clueless....

My Sidewinder FF usb wheel works great with NFSU.
Granted, the FF effects do not approach say F1 Challenge, but I have no
trouble driving at all.

I'm not saying NO split-axis wheel-n'-pedals setup will work; I'm saying my
Logi Momo (avec TSW pedals) and my LWFF "Ol' Red" (mit ECCI pedals) don't
work.

Just got NFS:Underground yesterday and had the same problem with my
Momo - the accellerator seemed to be mapped to the right paddle.
You have to go to controller setup, double-click on wheel, and make
sure it's set as "Primary".
Click on "Accellerate" or whatever it's called and press your gas
pedal.
Do the same for brake.
Should work now.
