Don't worry, there will be a patch for N2.

>How do you know there will be a patch before Nascar 3?
Contrary to some of the disinformation spreading around r.a.s.,
I've NEVER seen any posts from these guys that were untrue.
The closest thing that I've seen is when Adam made a time
*estimate* about the N2 demo. When it didn't arrive on the exact
date, the hecklers made it sound like he promised instead of
estimated<G>
It is the fault of the hecklers that us reasonable guys no longer get
updates from Papyrus as to the progress of patches etc..., so
complain to them for twisting Papy's previous statements.

Once again a false post with misinformation from an extremely frustrated
individual. Papyrus has constantly reassured us that there will be a
patch for NASCAR2. It is long in coming and thus the frustration. But
to date the only "official" word from Papyrus is that it is nearing
completion and will be released when it is ready (versus the initial
release of N2). We seem to want both are cake and to eat it too!
Everyone seems to be screaming that N2 came out before it was ready and
now everyone seems to be screaming give us the patch YESTERDAY! Well,
what do we want? A quality patch or a buggy patch?

Why not a quality product from the start? The "old" Papyrus would
have never released N2 in its current state, they would have held it
unitl it was closer to a quality product.

Since Papy is only in name now with Sierra actually doing everything,
which inlcudes why do a patch when we have already made 80-90% sales on
N2?. So until another company starts publishing racing games with the
quality of Papy's products before takeover I'm out of the market.
The Nascar 2 patch is taking it's time but it WIll be here.
Just don't hold your breath cus you will look funny with blue
lips.
At the end of the day it is Sierra's fault. Shame they bought
out Papyrus in the first place.

So you're going to cut off your nose to spite your face, huh?
Well, if you don't look at any of the Sierra/Papyrus products in the furure
you will probably only be doing yourself a disservice.

This seems to be an obvious one. Sierra/papyrus/etc etc ad infinitum,
is STILL a business, and they have to work with the sales seasons. We
can fault them all we want, but they have to produce things for their
own timetables, and yes that leads to problems in the product at times.
BUT if we got a perfect simulator right away, what would they have left
to sell/distribute???
just a thought
Each generation of product gets a little more complex. Take a look under
the hood of an old '62 Chevy II... brick-simple, right? Now go look under
the hood of a 1997 Monte Carlo... you can't see the engine for the hoses
and wiring.
The same thing is happening in software. Indy 500 came on one floppy,
NASCAR 2 is something over 50 times as large. There's a lot more places for
bugs to hide.
