What's up w/that?  Does GP3 really not sell well in USA?

Man, I am bummed.  I want to get it, but I'm not finding it.
Interractcd doesn't have it, nor EBworld, nor any of the usual
suspects.

When I got my first copy of GP3, I got it from somewhere in UK (red
box), but I can't figure out where I got it now.  I also got a USA
copy (blue box) from a pre-order.

Anyone in USA get it?  Warez?  I'm not into warez, and I don't mind
paying Geoff for his work in the least... I just want to get my
grubbies on that BAD.

I live in the states and got mine from SoftwareFirst
http://www.softwarefirst.com/default.asp
They are a UK distributor. You need to have a GP3 cd to load it and it won't
work on a US version, or so I heard.

Great.
Thanks Hasbro! See if I pay for GP4.

<snip>

Kewl, thanks.  Nice of you to post that.

If it indeed does not work with US cd of gp3, then it will pay off
that I kept my Euro redbox copy... whew.

My copy from SoftwareFirst does not work. It can't confirm that I have
the original CD.

Do you have the US version Rich? I have ordered both of my copies, GP3 and
GP3 2000, from SoftwareFirst and had no problems installing. Of course both
of my copies are UK versions. If you don't have a US copy of GP3, then maybe
its a bad CD.

Sounds like your the victim of some very poor programming decisions at
Hasbro/Microprose. No way they should prevent you from installing due
to owning a US version CD.

So back it goes to England.

Sure this is a Cost saving feature.  No support for us stuoopid Americans.
Support costs are often almost as expensive as development costs.  So by
eliminating the need to hold our hands while installing the patch, they save
money.  It is a patch right?  :)

WHAT?!?  So even if I *wanted* to use the add-on, I couldn't?  That sucks...
