Just read this at http://www.racesimcentral.net/:

The release date of Grand Prix 3 has been postponed several times,
that's because Geoff is a real perfectionist. He has never released a
game which he was not happy with.

At least someone is happy with GP3...

I'm very happy too, 1280*1024 all details on and it looks gorgeous and FPS
is smooth as silk.

Since when did "smooth as silk" become a benchmark for fps?  3fps can be
as smooth as silk as long as it is a constant 3fps....  I want to know
how many fps and what the range is solo and in traffic.  To some folks
18 fps is smooth as silk, but 18 fps in a racing sim doesn't cut it for
me.

There is a benchmarking test included in GP3. Best to stick with that for
any FPS numbers as a standard.

My machine is a P3-600 (OC'd to 800)
128 Megs of 133 bus speed RAM
ABIT BX6 with a V3-3000 (not OC'd) backing up the graphics.

In 1024X768, full details I get 54% occupancy in the test.
In 1280, full detail is 110% (You can see it begin to slow in traffic, had
to reduce)
In 1280, some mirror textures dropped is 75% with occaisional slow dows in
traffic in the rain only.

It has been some time since I have seen a game released where an "every day
average" machine can run it with very good performance. Though I have not
tried it yet on my P2-300 with a V2, I suspect it should run pretty good in
1024 with some mirror textures dropped.

I'm with Geoff, Andre:-)

Look at the new gamespot scrennies, they're most definilty what you'd call
phtorealistic....
Of course I'm not very "hip" as I haven't got the warez version. Blasted 33k
modem is rubbish and the sites wouldn't work even if I had a better
connection:-)
