We have a series in our news section detailing what they've been up to here:

The West brothers don't owe us as a whole and you in particular anything.
Not a game, not information, not a damn thing. -'k?

Whether or not WSC will see the light of day is uncertain at the moment.
There is an information stop in effect, so we just don't know for certain
either way. It is, however, not vapourware. It does exist in some unfinished
shape or form and this form does represent a substantial investment on the
part of the West brothers (both financial and in man-hours). It's not up to
anyone to bagatellise this commitment because they cannot control their
impatience.

So what's your stake ?
Why can't people ask simple questions ? Do you think it may reduce the
likelihood of the game being released ?

Nothing, I just got annoyed at the same old simple question coupled to the
same old insinuation. 4th time in two days in the perhaps 5% of total RAS
posts I read.

I don't know if the Wests give a rats arse about this type of comment so
their effect on the release are, again, unknown. I can only assure you I
wouldn't much care for them if I was in their shoes.

As for my life, there's enough of it to prevent me from spending as much
time on my sim hobby as I would like, thank you very much.

Have a nice day,

Jan.

He already has one. And a very good one, if I may add. Though it does
have a few miles on the thingymajig. :^)

2001:

<snip>

That statement worries me. It's the first time for a long time I've
seen anyone (in a serious post, anyway) casting doubt on *if*, rather
than *when* the game will come out.

Well, if whoever is doing the stopping is listening, damn well unstop
it! No-one's expecting reams of information - but nothing at all is
over the top. Even "things are progressing nicely, but we can't
honestly say how long it'll take" would do. Total silence helps no-one.

<snip>

I'm sure it does - I've seen enough to be convinced of that. But all
kinds of games got that far, and were never released.

I'm having a hard time deciding if that was sarcasm on your part or if
you're actually arrogant enough to think you could bring about a change in
my attitude on this newsgroup.

I partly disagree - they don't owe us anything indeed, but wouldn't it
be -nice- if they gave us a status update once in a while on their
website? Estimated release date, maybe a programmers diary, some
screenies.. at one point they were so close to the community, chris
even came to our lan party in holland for two days to tell us all
about wsc and to get feedback from the community, and now we haven't
heard a thing for months.

Rumors here, rumors there, but no info directly from the West
Brothers. I wish them all the best in the development of WSC, but they
know how anxious the community is looking forward to WSC, and surely
they must understand that the information stop is annoying for us, and
you can't blame people for asking about the current status of WSC -
even though they should check RAS more regularely to see its being
asked every day :)

What does bagatellise mean? As you know, I'm rather stupid and I couldn't
find it in the American Heritage Dictionary.

Yet-another grunt neanderthalesque (you can shove your dictionary up the
arse) post from DGF.  when !=Arguments then Flame_over_language.  It's a
nice escape route you use.

Anybody using a little common sense understood what he meant, I know what's
a bagatelle and it's obvious what he meant by that.  But hey, I guess you
have anything to say here except the same old boring routine.

Wrong again.

I have no idea what bagatellise means, and I actually did look it up in the
AMH dictionary.
