As a GPL driver I must agree. this track is an abomination. Let the N2
weenies run it.

Watkins Glen, NY.

Grand Prix drivers expressed their disgust with the confusing,
dangerous "inner loop" added to their track for this afternoon's GP
and vowed not to return unless it was removed a spokesperson said. Ten
drivers crashed there during the race and it was extremely hazardous
every lap with no flagman in sight and cars piled up at every turn.

"We are gentleman and Grand Prix drivers. This obnoxious piece of
tarmac is an insult to our high speed cornering skills and completely
destroys the rhythm of the track. Perhaps you younger gentlemen with
your funny accents, behemoth cars and crappy handling  may need it but
we plan to return to the real course..."

Lol; We the younger gentlemen have high speed cornering skills and low speed
cornering skills and find the inner loop just another set of turns. If you
have high speed cornering skills, then you should be able to handle the
inner loop at high speed. Show your skill by successfully navigating it.
BTW, they added the inner loop in real life because of the inability of real
drivers to safely make the original 4th turn without dying and because of
the danger that exists if equipment fails and the car doesnt turn left and
goes straight, head-on into the fence. We, the younger gentlemen with no
accent and who actually live within an Atlantic Ocean's distance of the
track, have a lot better handling cars in fact, than a 400 lb gocart with
400 bhp on beefed up lawn mower tires, that you must drive sideways all the
way around the track to go fast with.
LMAO

Phil,

I know, I just wrote it for fun after trying the great new track
converter and found the AI totally confused by the loop.  10 of them
crashed out there within the first 3 laps.  It appears those older
guys don't quite like it :)

I guess us N2 "weenies" are just more talented sim racers.  BTW - some of us
"weenies" run GPL, Viper Racing, SportCar GT, F1, CART, etc etc.

As someone who raced SCCA...  I ran the Glen with "Da Boot" and no inner
loop on the backstretch.  For those of you unaware of it,  Watkins has a
"boot" section of the course which is not used by NASCAR.  Im not sure if
the regional/national SCCA uses the boot anymore or not.   The change of
surface was always a joy when exiting the boot.  Now THAT was a blast!  =)
