Unbelievable. I have driven allot of N2/N99, mostly modem/modem
with my "raci'in buddy". N3 is unbelievable.
My PC is a P2-450, 128MB, 12MB 3dfx ect...
First off the graphics are absolutely awesome. I have the draw ahead
set to 6. I ran at the brickyard, c***te, Martinsville and Bristol. I saw
no drawing at all. It was all there and the graphics are maxed. I am
also running at 800x600 and the framerate is awesome. In the pits
you can see the card jacked up. Your flags are strictly now at the
flagstand.
Force feedback... I have a Logitech FF USB. Judging from the
early reports I wasn't expecting much. But it is *WAY* better than
SCGT and F1RS. And for a stockcar game I would say it is not far
from GPL. You can feel the wheels loosen up in the turns when
you lose grip. The most important FF for a stockcar fan is bumping
fenders :-) Well this is simply awesome in N3. I had the Tide car
slam me into the wall at Bristol. We both kept going but the wheel
definitely jarred with both of the hits. Way cool.
In my C***te race I say the Pennzoil car (S Parks I think) start
smoking. Well that guy saw screwing the whole track up until
he went into the pits. In all of my hours of N2/N99 online racing
I never saw that. It was awesome IMHO.
Traffic... Oh my god! The traffic is nuts! With all 43 cars at Bristol
it was a nightmare. I did notice that they really do keep their lines
very well at this track. C***te was different. I was taken out
many times by traffic and you really have to watch it.
The one negative is that the multiplayer options do not include
modem/modem play. It is TCP/IP NetWare (IPX) or Internet
(whatever that is supposed to be). So hopefully my friend will
be able to connect to our ISP's and connect via our TCP/IP
addressed.
All in all a absolutely great game. Good job papy!
