trouble with new hawaii!

trouble with new hawaii!

I d/l new version wed.
I was unable to connect.
I recieve unknown errors after getting to the scheluler.
Thursday----
I get on for my league race at 11:30.
I am kicked out of race practice to schedluler.
I get back in and and disconnected completely.
I finally get on again after busy signals to catch end of practice.
I ran fine until I left the race due to damage.
Friday------
I recieve unknown errors while going to race scheduler and
disconnects.
Help suggests a boot disk. this was no help.
I reunzip hawaii.zip  still problems.
As of now9:00est friday I also experienced very erratic steering even
with the same latency as always.
I tried new init string.... not much help and yes I am at 9600bps.

Don't feel too bad. I was disconnected ten times during qualifying or racing during the
weekend. Each counts as a last place finish. I fully expect the 9 I worked so hard for,
not to mention paid so much money for, to be long gone Monday.

It sounds like line noise problems to me.  Disconnects are certainly
caused by that.  Erratic steering could also be a simptom as could the
unknown errors.

Remember, we turn all error correction off on the modems to decrease
latency.  This makes us much more sensitive to line noise than any
other service.

We did have some trouble on our end, but that was on Sunday
afternoon... not in the time period you were talking about.  Also, our
trouble was with power, not phone lines.

Have you tried again since Friday?

One problem I've encountered twice in teh past few days is driving in a race,
noone around me, in the middle of the track, when I'll a sudden theres a bang
and I'm being towed! replay shows no accident eitehr. Is anyone else
experiencing this?

Happened to me at Michigan----spun completely out of control in the
middle of the back straight with no cars around me-  Twilight Zone
stuff
