Just downloaded the demo - no thanks, Sierra.  Different package, same
contents as far as I'm concerned.

Well I never bought the origional NASCAR. But I did try NASCAR2. I like it.
On my P5-133 with 32MB ram the SVGA framerate was very very smooth. I always
heard that NASCAR was very poor SVGA framerate wise. I was very impressed
with this. PLus I liked the in-car radio chatter. I am pretty sure I'll
be getting this one when it is released. And I am an openwheel guy :-)

BTW, I had the DEMO graphics maxed out.

shooting through ***space:

Not that this will convince you or anyone else to buy the simulator,
but keep in mind the demo of NASCAR 2 is one of the VERY early beta
versions of the final product.  It was the same way with the NASCAR 1
demo; a lot of planned features were not plugged in at the time the
demo was released.

The demo showed only the change in physics from NASCAR 1 vs. NASCAR2
and used the same graphics. The graphics and feel of NASCAR 2 is not
the same as the demo
NASCAR 2  is 100%  diferent than the original.  I must give credit
where credit is do.  THIS GAME IS AWSOME, Thanks Sierra!!!!! However
if your so narrow minded  and set on bashing a game you have not yet
tried in its final release....... Then have fun with Monster Truck
Madness or what ever it is that rings your bell .

p.s. .........I will bet the farm that you purchase this game  ( If
you havent allready) after reading all the posts here on the newsgroup
describing its improvements.

First I want to make this CLEAR that I do indeed like NASCAR2.
However,  IMHO Sierra _probably_ didn't have squat to do with N2.  I'd
say 99% of it was Papyrus.  That's why its good. <G>   Have to wait
till NASCAR 3 to see how bad Sierra will***it up.
I also can't see how it is 100% different.  (Even some of the people
with the Rendition cards, in the video news groups aren't claiming
that!)  Spotters were added, slightly better graphics.  (for those of
us WIHTOUT a Rendition card) and some very slight physics model
changes and track updates.  (that should have been added in the first
version IMO)    Still no improvement to the damage model, no random
pit stalls, the AI seems to be a bit more aggressive but still does
the same stupid stunts.  (i.e. follows the "line" whether you are
there or not, and will run into you if you are there)  And what about
double file restarts?   Wasn't that supposed to be included as well?
I know there was talk about it, but wasn't certain if it they were
supposed to be added.
