Err....you've lost me there :)

Anyway, I imagine Fran?ois meant assembly programmer, and how it takes
longer to code with asm.

lol, sorry my brain is in document writing hell.....no wonder I cant explain
anything :)

yes, thats what he meant, and yes....thats what I meant......you write a
compiler mostly in Assembler (or so I would imagine - not having done it
myself - or ever want to!)

SORRY!

Replace compiler by "assembler".

Brain freeze here, ugh! :-/  (especially since I've worked in assembler for
the whole past year LOL!)

Yes, yes, yes! GP3 is superb. Since you used the word sim in your question, the EA and UBI
games do not qualify.

The racing is excellent with the patch, both physically and strategically. It has all the
documented troubles; processor occupancy and lack of online and poor hardware usage on the
graphics side but it is to date, the best driving sim available. AND While the graphics
are not SBK in quality, I am quite satisfied with them. These statements are contrary to
popular belief and, even after what I am about to say next, are bound to *** negative
responses, so... Go to Electronics Boutique or some other place where you can return games
and get all three. DL the patches and spend a good two hours with each (on track) before
bringing any back.

If you are truly looking for a sim there are two titles that you will laugh at all the way
back to the store.

...and then some.

Yes, they do, and they do their 'simmery' (TM) well. I still prefer GP3,
though, especially with the physics editor.

Since this is a sim racing news group, the proper term is 'brain fade'.

GP3 actually had poor sales on the scale of things. I suspect GP4 will not
happen, likewise the season add-on pack from Micropose.

Actually, the 2000 season update has just been announced (again)
yesterday, but who really knows... :).

See, this is the kind of reply I was talking about and exactly why you need to try all
three. You won't learn anything from reading here.

Hi Mark,

I'll assume you were speaking to me as you replied to my post. I did try
all three (at least the demo for F1RC), and they all simulate driving a
modern F1 car well, and, with a little bit of tweaking of some physics
parameters, can be brought to feel very close to each other (the largest
difference being in the differential modelling, it seems).

On another point, I learned more about racing sims and racing in general
in this n.g. than anywhere else, and I also hope I contributed a little
share of my knowledge for others to be able to do the same. I've also
learned that people who take a  product and declare all its rivals to
'not be sims' are not to be taken seriously in any discussion.

I'll implicitly quote Greg Cisko here; if you're a regular follower,
you'll know what I'm talking about.

He certainly won't learn much by your answer either.  No offence, but the
only thing 'superb' about GP3 is the dynamic weather.  The rest is somewhere
between ok and quite poor.

Do you program professionally (as a job) or as a hobby Fran?ois?
