CD-rom driver for dos.

by Phil Youn » Mon, 30 Jun 1997 04:00:00

This isn't about sim-racing but lately I haven't been able to get my
computer to recognize my Cd-rom drive in DOS.  I knowthat it is because
my CD-rom driver in the config.sys or autoexec.bat is either missing or
wrong.  Does anyone know where I can find the driver for this?  Thank
You!

it's probably on your system somewhere, if not deleted,,, you didnt say
what kind of cd you are running, or whether it's connected to your sound
card or straight to the MB...
what Might be helpful is to do a search for your particular brand of
cdrom,,,,go to the website,,,,and look in tech,,,,support,,,,or
drivers,,,,,and find what you need...however, if the problem is only in
dos, it would appear that you already have the required files, but are
just not loading them in a dos boot.....check your "old" and "bak"
autoexec and config files, to see if one of them might be useful... if
you cant figure it out, e-mail me, I'll do my best to help and do have
some of the more common generic drivers
(sony,,,atapi,,,mtmcdai,,,,etc... )          :)
