Turn off braking help!!! You might use it to practice (see where you might
want to brake), but you'll be better off without this help. Even the manual
says this 'can reduce your overall speeds', and 'With Braking Help turned
on, your stopping distances will be much greater' (page 9). So turn it off
NOW and do it yourself. But... I've been playing N3 for a few weeks now and
have LOTS of trouble*** on in there with the AI at 98% (mostly due to
screeching (and therefore quickly burned) tyres and stupid accidents. N3
won't give you ane easy ride! But with all Help off, you should be (have to
be...) able to beat these 96% guys! BTW At the back of the manual, in the
Online Racing Guide, you'll find some nice driving tips (I still haven't
figured out why Papyrus put those tips there and not in chapter 1!!!)

To me, the easy setup just isn't competitive, I would suggest using the ace
setup, stick with it long enough to get used to it, then play with it to
suit your style...

You will never keep up using the braking help - turn it off, the sooner you
drop it the better before you get dependant on it....   get out on the track
and tear some equipment up and learn where, when, and how little you need to
brake....   make sure you have the pavement detail set to show the groove
around the track and practice staying in it until you get used to how much
you need to brake and when you can pick the gas up again....
