Loads and then gets very odd.  Menus start
endlessly cycling.  Have a Force RS connected
(which the demo finds) but only recognizes the
keyboard for non-steering functions.  Wind up
steering with the keyboard while the Force RS
wheel whips from side to side.  And then the demo
will not exit.  Requires a hard boot to get it to
let go.

Had really been looking forward to this one.  Hope
all this nonsense has been sorted in the final
code.

(I seem to remember RazorWorks having similar
problems with the TIR demo.)

I had the same thing - exit the game

Then relaunch and play a keyboard control game

Then configure the controller

Actually it is kinda fun - great graphics and controls are nice - lot like
NFS PU IMO

Yes, it is somewhat like NU:PU, but not as good, IMHO.  Fact is, FR2 looks
and feels like a console port, which is not good news.

Stupid wheel configuration is annoying-- how you have to do things.  Why
can't game makers get this right.  Is it that difficult?

That's pretty much the same thing that happened to me with the FIRST Ford
Racing game.  I'm not even going to waste my time downloading the demo.
They're not getting a dime from me. :-(

Downloaded it , installed it, configured it (it forgets the configuration on
exit so you have to reset it every time you start it up). Messed around with
it for an hour trying to get it to not spaz out whenever I tried to use my
Thrustmaster wheel, gave up and set it to run using joystick. Did the two
events possible. Cars handled like they were on rails giving no feeling of
being anything other than a nicely illustrated point of view moving through
space. Very nice graphics. Appears to be an XBox/Nintendo port that through
some strange misconception was ported to the PC.
In sum: beautiful but brainless.

It does that on my main *** machine with a 9700 Pro in it. On my
other machine with a GF3 it works. It has some nice graphics but is
too arcadey for my liking.

They can keep it if it is anything like the first one.

The first one never recognized my MSFF wheel correctly no matter what I
tried.

I emailed tech support several times and included a DirectX diagnostic of my
system showing everything was configured correctly. The final answer, from
the game's producer, was something to the effect that the MSFF wheel worked
for them on *their* test platforms and that they would offer no further
support for the problem. That game went back to EB for a refund.

The truth is out there. You just have to look in the right places and ask
the right questions.

Those were the days!  (...when EB would accept returns for a refund, that
is.)

Yes indeed they were! Since I can no longer return junk software for a
refund I wait for consumer reviews before buying. Based on my past
experience with the first Ford Racing I seriously doubt they'll get a cent
of my money.

Echoes my post.  It takes a lot to gain a customer, but it doesn't take much to
LOSE one.  They lost a lot with the previous effort...
