        I remember a controller at Electronic Boutique that looked
like a remote control with a dial that you can use to steer.  I forgot
what it was called. Is there anything similar to this today?  I think
it would be great for the notebook.

I don't know if it's still made, but Interact had a handheld force
feedback wheel on the market a few years ago.
