Nascar4 install problem

Whether I try to insall using OGL or D3D, I get "configuration could
not be saved" error after the video test.  How do I fix this?

System:

MSI KT7 Pro 2A
Athlon 1.0G
512M memory
Win98 SP1
Tekram DC-390U2W, Quantum 36G drive, IBM 18G drive
Aureal2 soundcard
SMC NIC
Plextor IDE burner
Plextor SCSI burner

OK, I figured it out (sheepish grin).

There is a selection for the video card: TnL or plain.  Using the
"plain" got it to run.

Oh, btw, the video card is a GF2 GTS.

Did you recently restore your N4 folder from a burnt CDR ?

If so, all the files have the read-only bit set.  You will need to fix this.
