Setups help.  Trawl the websites for some basic, easy-to-drive
setups (maybe Alison Hine's) to take the viciousness out of
the car.

Have fun!

ROTFLMAO

How about:

Drive with the keyboard (default)
Turn all aids off
All Graphics and sounds Maxed
Grand Prix setting
Damage Model Realistic
Track: Nurburgring

After you have slammed your***into and broken a dozen keyboards, and you
have completed 1 lap, you'll be good.

Oh and a tip, buy cheap keyboards and don't do this online. :-))))))

Thanks for all your words.

So far, I'm sticking to the advance trainer, but with throttle help
off.

I've watched a few replays and compared with mine using the Replay
utility.  Pleased that I've got the lines right at Watkin's, just not
the speed.

Also got a few setups - some I can't cope with, but a couple I can
handle.

I've shaved off 2 more seconds - now down to 1:14, but not consistant
enough yet, so I'll just keep practising and maybe join a beginners
league.

Once again, thanks.

Also sticking with the Ferrari - nice noisy engine that seems to cover
up the swearing.

Martyn

BTW Jan Verschueren, are you the Jan that used to play in Randy's GP2
League a couple of years back?  If so, I remember you helping me out
then ;-)

Yeah I see what you are saying, but with one qualification.  I'll admit
I can't use Huttu's braking points, and if I try to rotate the car like
he does I usually spin.  But I did find it very helpful to study and to
try to use his line.  And I think that "the line" is the single most
important determinant of lap time, and therefore studying the best line
is very helpful.  I might have to drive his line at a lower speed than
he does, but I want to start learning that optimum line from the start.

Great Game.

Have now switched to the GP car and have my best time down to 1:10.3
(W. Glen)
Not great by you guys, but it's like winning a championship to me!

The best thing though is that I'm getting more consistant, stringing
laps with seconds of each other.  I also know my biggest loss is at
the loop.  I need to brake quite early here otherwise I always loose
it.  Practice, practice, practice!

Hmm... disagreed!
If you ask 100 experienced GPL drivers, 101 will tell you to
turn off all the helps :)
