A little trouble with Racer/cars

by Verne » Sat, 19 Oct 2002 07:48:37

I have successfully downloaded a small number of add-on cars for
Racer........but I CANNOT get the 914 to work. Every time I choose this car,
my entire system freezes. I even tried overwriting the engine wav file based
on a suggestion on the racer webpage. Still didn't work. I also have trouble
with the Alfa Junior......it goes in fine, chooses fine but absolutely
refuses to go anywhere once on a track in the game. It'll achieve a maximum
velocity of almost 2 WHOLE KMH !!! This is one fine looking car and I'd
certainly love to drive it as well. I am wondering if anyone else has had
any problems such as these and if so, what did you do to fix them??
Thanks all............and COOL GAME !!!!!!!

Hm, I believe the Alfa Jr. requires the v0.5.0 beta version (beta5 is
the latest out for PC, beta6 is for Mac).
Probably something with the clutch.
Note that beta7 will have a versioning system, indicating if a car
isn't meant for a specific Racer version. That should help with
compatibility problems.

System freezes are mostly problems with drivers though. Hard to tell.

Thanks. :)
