Pit in/pit out messages, info from the league admin, etc.  I run in a league
that has a restart rule if a certain % of the field is involved in a first lap
crash.  So, you'd need to see those messages.  If people start yakking
needlessly later in the race, it would be nice to turn it off then...

I never found that 'op' 'pi' stuff of any use. If they come out badly,
you're ***ed anyway.

But how does it help to know the server will be reset? Surely you'll
find out in due course back at the chat screen?

Would you? Or is it that the host needs to see messages, is that what
you mean?

Well unfortunately you can't. But I can't really agree that you need in
car chat on in the first place.

Cheers

I've found it useful, as have others I run with.  YMMV...<g>

Well, not a 'restart', per se.  The first lap turns into a pace lap - the
leader slows for the remainder of the lap, and allows the other cars to catch
up.  Racing commences again at the S/F line.  Also, when we run races on oval
tracks, the first lap is DESIGNATER a pace lap, with a go signal being given
right before the leader crosses the line for lap 2.

What if you're in a league that allows pit stops, or mandates stop+go penalty
stops?  It would be nice to know that the car you're on the gearbox of is about
to hit the brakes at a spot you're normally flat-out...

Agreed, it would be useful in that context.
