of NASCAR's or INDYCAR's tracks? I'm interested in
knowing how you feel about INDYCAR's and NASCAR's car dynamics. I
personally have raced in many different cars and some of the west coast
indycar tracks and feel that the car driving part is not even close yet.
At the superspeedways when you enter a corner the car seems to
oscillate through the first part of the corner as you enter it. Once this
oscillation dies down you can drive a fairly stable line through the rest
of the corner. Any change of trajectory while in the corner will cause
the car to oscillate again.
Another problem is the big banked tracks. Now I'm not sure about
this part because I have never raced on a big banked track only slight
quarter mile ones but the car seems to over-steer very easily on the
steeply banked tracks. Does this really happen or is this another
weakness in NASCAR'S car dynamics?
I myself am working on a simulator on an IBM workstation at the
university and understand that for what Papyrus has available to them
they have done a good job it just seems that there needs to be more
refining done.
Anyone with who has raced a real race car please let me know how
you feel about NASCAR and INDYCAR's simulation.
