I'll start since I already opened this.   :-)

How about a Dreamcast ,a copy of Ferrari F355 Challenge and an Interact v3fx
Racing Wheel.Thank god my brother knows what I like because my wife would
have never got this for me.
The combination of those three products is an extremely satisfying
driving experience for me.  I know the "sim" purists will look down their
noses at a console but let me tell you this is awesome. I have only had a
chance to spend about a half hour on it and I can't wait till I can get some
quality time in .Anyone who already has this will tell you the same thing
I'm sure.

Anyway Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all RASers. I hope all  your
gifts are as much fun as this one.

Doug

God Bless America.

<snip>

Hardly any of my stuff (that I know about!) is relevant to ras, except
that I'm - finally - going to get my hands on Viper Racing (in a 4-pack
with NASCAR 2, Grand Touring and Powerslide, but it was only a tenner
all in [not that I'd know  of course, what with it being a present and
all!]).

Quite a few rassers like VR, and quite a few don't - time to see which
camp I fall into. And at least it doesn't require a 2 GHz Athlon!

I got myself a Creative Surround Station for my 5.1 Speakers and Augidy!

A new pickup truck, for very odd reasons.

1976 Ford F150 4X4.  Fairly basic, but it had the heavy duty 360 engine,
heavy duty rear/manual 4 speed (talk about a granny first gear!), cooling,
etc...

My Dad bought it has a replacement for his old, worn-out K5 Blazer.  In the
2 months he owned it, it spent 2 months in the shop waiting for a
transmission part that 'never fails'.

One day, he drove up the drive way in a new Chevy Pickup.

I wents outside, said 'cool', and asked "What about the Ford.  How did you
trade it when it was in the shop?".

He said "I didn't."  He then threw me the keys to the new (but
shop-stricken) Ford F150 and said "If the piece of Sh*t ever gets out of the
shop, it's yours".

That, of course, was even cooler :)

It finally came out of the shop about 2 weeks later, and it never presented
a problem (ever) from that point on :)

It wasn't quite Christmas, but close enought that it became my present for
the year :)

You must not have kids then. I can't stay in bed past 6:30 AM on Christmas
day. The kids are up and ready for the fun to start.

Or your kid was born in 1984?

LOL!  I know the feeling :)

I have a medical issue with my spine that prevents me from sleeping more
than about 5 hours at a time.  Well, I can, but I pay DEARLY for it if I do.

Let 'em. I can't wait to open my PS2/Gran Turismo 3 package! My wife
is letting me open it tonight so that I won't spend all my time
tomorrow playing with it instead of paying attention to the kids ;-)

I got a nice book about the history of Formula 1. Very nice pictures.
The editors must have been infatuated with Mr. Senna. :-)

God bless the rest of the World apart from America. ;-)

I received a Danish translation but looking at Amazon, I found the
original version:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/1859745008/o/qid=1009311934/sr=
8-1/ref=sr_aps_b_1_1/202-8355783-8081416

You may consider it slightly superficial but a nice book regardless.

Cheers,
Jens
