> So if I understand this correctly, there is NO sound from the AI cars?

> Boy, that sucks...

Well, it may suck, but it is realistic.  With earplugs and a full face
helmet, and god-knows-how-many decibels coming out of the engine a
matter of inches away from you, you have next to no directional
awareness of sound, and the only time you are aware of the other cars'
sound is when they are all together in concert on the grid; you will
not be able to hear individual cars.

I am not making this up - I read (somewhere authoritative, I'm sure:-)*
that this was the case for F1 cars, and I can report from personal
experience the reduction in directional sense from driving a Formula
Vauxhall single seater with balaclava and full-face helmet.  You _can_
hear and feel the kerbs, of course, and I am enormously impressed at
how accurate the sensation of going over the kerbs is in the game.

* I think it was Martin Brundle in Autosport, now I come to think
  about it.

I found this too. I changed his name to A.Senna and now his speed seems
much more realistic!

>> How does the engine sound like in gp2. Digital as in Nascar or simulated?

>The engine sounds are great. .... I do NOT, however, hear any of the other cars...weak point?

on the track...?????

What really makes it strange is that if you were to check via replay or
saved hotlap, you would discover there weren't any cars going by the pit
lane.
