rear tire off..

You need to change each of your setup (.svm) files.

Under stanza [DRIVELINE]
make DiffPowerSetting=17

: where in the .plr file to do you fix the rear end, I hate it burning the
one
: rear tire off..

The SVM file is of course correct, and won't give you any mismatch online.

But a curious setting it is, this 17.  In the HDV file you find this line:

DiffPowerRange=(0.35,0.05,18)       // fraction of power-side input torque
transferred through diff

Which can be interpreted via the following comment lines from the file.

// Any range has the following values: (minimum, step size, number of steps)
// Any setting refers to the step from 0 to <number of steps - 1>.

So; starting at a minimum of 35% of torque begin transferred at step 0,
going to step 17 means 120% of the power side input is being sent through
the diff.  If you check out any of the stock or upgrade diffs in rFactor for
comparison, they all max out at 100%, as you'd expect.  So actually, setting
NSR to 13 should give you 100% torque transfer.  Dunno how that physics
engine would handle a torque value that would put the two rear wheels at
more than 100% of what's coming out of the transmission, but it's an
interesting point to ponder.

Nice to see such attention to detail in NSR...

Surely someone can right a batch file that will do that automagically?

I hope.

"Dunno how that physics engine would handle a torque value that would
put the two rear wheels at more than 100% of what's coming out of the
transmission, but it's an interesting point to ponder. "

Torque (or transmission) snatch in real life can momentarily double it
or more.

I'm in favor of anything that doubles my snatch.

I agree, more snatch is better. :-)

Ditto!  But sad to say, or good if you're an online racer, the game engine
appears to cap the torque getting sent through the diff at 100% of power
side.  As it should.  So all it means is there are four more diff power
settings than you need, since 14-17 give the same result as 13.

Now, back to the more snatch part...  ;-)
