N2-won't read my car file

I loaded the first patch and when i turned on the game, it said can't read
t_player.file. So now I've lost my car that i had painted and it won't
save my name when i change it. I've had to load up another t_player from
the disk. Anyone else having this problem? Thanks in advance for any help.

Hope that wasn't due to an errant posting I made for multiplayer ... I had
suggested that people rename T_PLAYER.CAR to some other name so they could
run multiplayer with each player getting their preferred car, with that car
visible on all of the other machines which are running ...

CORRECTION: you should COPY T_PLAYER.CAR to another .CAR file name, rather
than renaming it.  That way, any entry list which references T_PLAYER.CAR
will still be able to find your car.

After that, go into the MULTI.LST entry list, and set it up so the first
car in the list is the COPIED filename rather than T_PLAYER.
