F12002 won't start

by wasso » Wed, 18 Jun 2003 08:39:20

I have a Pentium 2.0 GHz laptop with a ATI 9000 card with 64 meg, and 512
Meg ram. It use
to run f12002 great, and I could multiplay with others on my network.
I installed DX9 for another game, and had to reinstall winxp awhile back.
Everything seems
fine, and I can run GPL, Netkar, but now when I try to start f12002, the
screen goes blank
right away, and I have to kill the computer to get out of the screen. I
thought the install might
be corrupt, so I removed and reinstalled F1202, but it still behaves the
same way.
Any suggestions??

Thanks,

Bob

You may have turned sound acceleration away from max in dxdiag. F12002
always goes to black screen if  sound acceleration is not set on max on my
comp.

That or (re)run the 3Dconfig.exe inside your F1 2k2 folder.

Thanks for the info. You were very close. I looked at the sound, and
remembered that
I had installed a program called Total Record. Setting the sound back to
original allowed
F12002 to now run.

Thanks alot for the help

Bob
