SBK2000 sound problem... :-(

by James Pickar » Sun, 05 Mar 2000 04:00:00

I'm having a massive problem with SBK2000...

I got the demo to work great (and still works great)..  full sound..  and
even in A3D mode..  great....

But SBK2000, no go....  :-(

for some reason it crashed when I try to get into the actual race and the
sound comes on...   it then just freezes with the first sounds playing a
loop...  It also crashes if I try and change any sound option in game.

I have 2 putas on a Network..   I tried it on the other computer by running
it over the network and it worked fine..  (a bit slow.. but worked).

So it has to be something in the Registry or somthing.....

Does anyone know what settings in the Registry to look for to change
this...??  I know how to edit the registry.. but not which bits to change...
:-(

Anyone know?????

Thanx in advance...

delete the Registry and reinstall it

the A3d screws up in the full version (same with EAX aswell)
so I run without it, and still though, notice little difference

I had the exact same problem with the demo. I updated my windows driver
from the original Ensoniq to latest SB PCI 64 and viola, no crashing. I
realise you got the demo working, but perhaps a sound card driver upgrade
may solve the problem.

Still can't load replays and play them in the demo though :(  Just crashes
back to the desktop. Apparently, this also happens in the full version for
some people. Demo replays load and play perfectly on my mates machine.
