Is Midtown Madness series the only good thing out there for driving like
a nut on realistic streets? GTA3 for PC coming out?

I'd love to ram the side of that damn chicks car who was on a cell phone
not paying a damb bit of attention to driving at all and watch the ***
go up in a ball of fire!!!

I need to vent some road rage now and then and could use a good sim to
do so with.

April 16th, according to EBGames.com

I can't believe no one's created a traffic sim that lets you do this sort of
stuff. They could have it where you could carry a gun, maybe some grenades
you could toss in the back window of another driver.

There could be missions:

* Intercept OJ

****off  Jack Nicholson (and his 9 iron)

* Romp thru the Hood

* run from the LAPD on the 405

* Oncoming Brights and a Rocket Launcher.

* Ram the old slow drivers - extra points if you can knock their eyeglasses
off

etc

I guess this would be the tutorial mission since it's so easy.

Driver is a fairly decent game like this - not nearly as good as the Midtown
games but a decent diversion.  It's more mission orientent and not nearly as
varied as MM.  Wal-Mart has it in their bargain software.

Dude.  You just described GTA 3 minus the gang warfare and with real-life
specifics...well, the brights aren't there, but you'd better believe the
rocket launcher is!!!!

It's one AWESOME game.  If GTA3 PC supports multiplayer, I just might have
to get my hands on a copy, despite having GTA3 PS2 since the release date...
=)

Stuff you can do:
*Drive-bys with Uzis - it's great to see what other drivers do once you look
over and start unloading, they just start driving like idiots and half the
fun is chasing them down to finish them off
*Mass pedestrian slaughter - take your pick, via fistfight, baseball bat,
pistols, Uzis, AK47, sniper rifle, grenades, molotovs, rocket launcher
*Vehicular combat - running into stuff makes stuff get damaged / injured /
blown up, etc
*Piss off the authorities - cops, CIA, Army
*Vigilante mode - take the law into your own hands
*A lot more...

If you've ever played GTA2 and Driver, GTA3 seems to me to be the best
fusion between the two.  At least as good, if not better, physics than
Driver, along with the outright *** of GTA2, and a real storyline with
a lot of nice cutscenes.

The perfect way to unravel some road rage, IMO.  Just fire up the PS2 and
let the death begin...

Does GTA3 have as interactive an environment as Midtown Madness2 i.e.
can you run over light poles, smash mailboxes, chew up grass, crash into
buildings, etc.?

GTA 3 is about ten times as interactive as Midtown Madness 2. You can do all of the above things and a million more.

Definitely yes on the first two (tho it helps to have a heavier vehicle to
run through/over light poles) and while you can run through grass, I don't
think you can actually 'tear it up'...and the only buildings you can crash
through are the ones with big glass windows....

Small things, really, that'll probably be there in GTA4.  Or maybe even
GTA3PC.

Until GTA3 comes out, try Carmageddon 2.  I know it's an old game but you can
wreck stuff and you can also run over pedestrians, turning them into a ***y
mass of digital carnage.  I've seen this game at EB and Software Etc. for $6.

I remember catching one pedestrian on my fron left wing and driving along a
wall. It left this huge red streak down the wall. I called it the human
pencil. LOL

I think they made a follow up to it, a while back Deathrace 2000 similar
kind of thing but newer. I used to play Carmageddon2 constantly it was
brilliant at the time. I remember hitting a canadian mountie and then I
stopped for some reason (probably supping tea) and I hear this 'ow! Ow!
Ow!' constantly. I wondered what the hell? Then I looked a bit closer
and there wasa  mountie hopping on one leg, his ***y stump dripping
and he was moaning 'ow ow ow' it was funny as hell. It's little details
like that that make a game brilliant. Also when you run over people
sometimes you can feel the wheels slip on the *** and you end up wheel
spinning someone into mush, leaving ***y tire marks everywhere!
Great!!!!

Can't wait for GTA3 on the PC, gonna pre-order it soon, yay!
