NR2002 is the only game causing me any issues whatsoever.

I never had any issues like this with ANY version of N4 or NR2002 until the
second patch.

Finally, I'm not the only one having the problem.

Thanks, though!

Maybe, but Papy already has the license.

The same happened to me with the second patch to GPL. And only GPL caused
the probs. It turned out to be some sort of overclocking or fast timings
that caused the probs.

Falcon3, for example, used to be more sensitive to RAM timings than other
programs on my system (at that time). With all other sims I could use the
fastest settings, but Falcon3 used to hang after a while. I had to use
slower RAM timings to cure the prob.

I.e., even if it's only N2002 after the patch, it could still be what I
said, according to my experience.

I need to correct this...

Original Game - No crashes.
Patch .1 - Crashes in OGL.
Patch .2 - Crashes in OGL.

It does seem to take a little longer to happen with the .2 patch.

There are no overclocking or pushed timings involved.  I don't bother with
this stuff as I don't think it's worth it to me.

No BIOS changes have been made whatsover.

Original Game - No crash in OGL.
.1 Patch - Crashes in OGL very quickly.
.2 Patch - Crashes in OGL, but seems to take a little longer.

No other games have problems, no other software has problems.

Doesn't that damage the car?

Is there anyone who runs the RASCAR races who has an LPI of *less* than 30?

Depends on how many online SS races you run in one week :(

Mine's about 34 currently but only because I've raced very little except in
RASCAR.  When I was in the Papy open servers all the time in N4 on the 20
lap races, my LPI was usually about 20-24 due to always always being caught
up in someone's practical jokery on the starts.

cheers

Well, there's a possibilty of using an RAS server with a 20 or so LPI
restriction.  At least the 'potential' for idiot drivers is lessened.

In retrospect, it's a good thing I didn't implement an LPI restriction yet,
huh?<g>

Not as much as it should.  Hitting the wall that hard should completely
destroy your car if it is anything like real life.  It causes damage but it
can be done multiple times during a race and it doesn't slow you down much.
Doing that trick during qualifying will get you a #1 seed everytime.  If
they changed the wall contact to something similar to what happens when you
hit the tire walls at Sears Point then papy might be on to something.

This is one of the reasons why I wish you could see replays of other drivers
qualifying runs...  I think a LOT of mysteries concerning guys that are
always 1-2 seconds faster than everyone else (even top-tier drivers) would
be solved.
