Is there any way to edit the qualifying before a race?  I'd like to
select the driver's qualifying position myself for races like the Bud
Shootout or the Daytona 500 where they use a random drawing or
qualifying races.  Not a major problem, but I just like to be as
realistic as possible.

Ditto.  I too would like to have a way to edit qualifying.  This way you
could run the Twin 125's and edit qualifiying accordingly for the 500.  If
anyone has a program to do this, or know how to do this let me know as well.

But remember, there is no Daytona in N2...

What's the need to do this without this track ??? The only way to do this is
to go take an illegal fake Daytona track (well legal in a certain way), have
a 125mile race (qualifying before) and have the knowledge of editing the
save file to make the drivers in a determinate order of the 125mile race.

Well, let's hope N3 will have Daytona... let's hope.  It's been 4years since
we say that. Darn Sega.

Find a copy of the excellent N2HQ.  It has a utility to allow altering
the starting grid from the saved race file.  However, this will only
work if the saved game was made after qualifying.  So for those that
wish to "invert" the field you will need run a 2nd qualifying run and
then edit the field for the inverted race based on the results of the
first run.

Here's the home page for N2HQ: http://www.vii.com/~danej/

Re-read the post...he makes no mention of "wanting" Daytona, only to
select qualifying positions similar to named track.

Ah... oops (slap in the face)

Btw Mark can I use some of your old interviews you made on the old SimRacing
news website to put it on the SimRacing Hall-of-Fame ? I don't want to do
illegal copyrighting.  If you say No (because you don't really like me) it's
ok I will make interviews myself like I did with Tony Johns.  Sorry for
posting this public also...
