I saw the thread on SOS several months ago and it seemed that it wasn't
going to be worth getting. I see that it's now avail in US and was wondering
if anyone has played the final version and if the opinion is still the same.

SoS? I haven't played the final version, but a friend who has informs
me that the same applies as the demo: nice graphics, nice sounds,
hopeless physics. Don't buy if you want a GPL-type experience.

I,ve got the final version and its a bit of fun. IF you really like racing
games and dont have to pay a whole heap for it. I have fun having a blast
for an hour or so every now and again, but It's not something I think You
could get too serious with.

No sense of speed either. The tracks are too wide. I binned it.

Add poor frame rates and no multi-player to it's list of evils. I think a
few weeks back it was decided on here that the best part of the game was the
picture on the box or cd cover.

The SoS37 was a nice change after playing GP2 for some years.
However, now that I have GPL, I don't try it anymore.

The good things about SoS:
- Very nice graphics (had to buy a 3D card),
- Nice dynamics on the sand tracks:
I prefer the SoS over CMcRae or any Rallye game, because you can drive
those '37's like rallye cars AND you have the AI cars on the track in the
same time
- Some of the cars are really challenging.

The less good things about SoS:
- You get bored with the short tracks.
- You can't drive against the traffic!  ;^)

Poor frame rate or no-multi-player are no problem for me.
And the tracks are not too wide if you want to get really good times.
