Momo wheel help

Hey gang,
I picked up a Logitech Momo FF wheel today, it just really looked good when
I saw it and couldn't resist. This is my first force feedback wheel, I would
appreciate any tips/advise you might have. Mainly what I will be using it
with is N4 and F12001.
Do I have to set up some sort of profile for each game or does each game
automatically utilize it?

Thanks,

Don Burnette

Hi Don, the Wingman Profiler software has a list of games with profiles for
each of them with the most standard features already set up, or you can
create profiles from scratch for any app that you want to use the wheel
with.....WinVROC, say.....I love mine, use the buttons for all kinds of
stuff, autochat, car reset, back to pits, view standings and such. Make sure
you use the v4.11c drivers to correct any centering probs with the wheel,
get 'em at www.wingmanteam.com  and good luck at the track.    Ed

And, for the completely opposite opinion, I have never used the profiler for
my Logitech Wingman Formula Force (LWFF). So either way works, it just
depends on what your needs are.

You DO have to install the Wingman software to get the Logitech-specific
controller setup in Control Panel, where you can enable split axis, set the
force feedback strength, etc. That is separate from the profiler, which is a
little application that runs and displays a "W" icon in your system tray.

Regardless of whether or not you use the profiler, you're probably going to
have to fiddle with some controller settings in each game to get the wheel
working the way you like it.

Wear gloves, or your thumbs will be black! (mine are :) But it's a great
wheel, I have to admit.

Ohh yeah, this is the way to drive F12001.
This force feedback thing is pretty cool.

Force feedback is a fad.  It'll die out in another year
or two.  Just wait.  If force feedback amounted to anything,
all the big super-duper wheel makers like Thomas, ECCI, and
Hyperstim would be making force feedback wheels.

I can't say whether it's only a fad or not, but the tweaking/drivers setup
for each sim?.............no thanks, rather be racing :)

Hey,
Does it hurt anything to unplug the usb connector from the port on the pc
while the pc is on? Will it lose it's calibration if I do so?

Thanks,

by doing this.

LOL.  I've used them all and now I've got the Momo hooked up with my TSW2
pedals.  The Logitech Momo is the closest thing to a TSW with FF that I've
seen yet.  This thing is solid and has great FF effects.

How did you get your TSW2 pedals hooked up to the Momo?

Why is better technology a bad thing?
You don't like added realism??????

FF doesn't amount to anything? Try Colin McRae Rally (1) with a MOMO, and
drive on one of the 'ice-snow' tracks in Sweden. Feel how the wheel responds
to all the changing surfaces, in mid-race. It felt very realistic to me.
Besides, it's a lot of fun, which is what most people are looking for when
playing games. So my guess is force feedback is here to stay. Wanna bet?
