N2 peer-to-peer problems

by Michael Gilbe » Thu, 27 Mar 1997 04:00:00

I've finally figured out why N2 was saying "Can't initialize IPX
card"   It seems the problem went away if I had the N2 CD-rom in the
drive.   But I'm still having problems getting N2 multiplayer to work
with my 2 computer peer-to-peer network.   I select dial for one
machine, and answer for the second.   The problem is that N2 uses the
dial computer as a server (not as one of the drivers), and the answering
computer is the only driver that shows up.   Is there a way for me to
get around this problem?   Should I set both machines to answer?   Any
suggestions would be helpful.   BTW, Buy the Linksys network in a box
kit if your a newbie to networks ($80 for PCI kit) - I was up and
running in 1.5 hours!
