My OPINIONS: (note that!) best through to worst
1)Lotus is easily the best car, but you need to be good to drive it to it's
full potential. Once you can drive it, you'll be very quick. Has a tendency
to break though
2)Eagle, fastest in a straight line, but weighs more, quite stable, but can
be hampered by its long wheelbase on tight turns. Fragile
3)Ferrari: Nice driveable engine, coupled with responsive handling make this
car ideal for slower circuits, but it lacks top speed.
4)Brabham: Small and nimble, with good acceleration, but far too skittish,
and low power. Only a contender because of Brabham's and Hulme's ability at
the wheel, and cast iron reliability
5) Honda: Plenty of horsepower, and quite stable, but lacks acceleration and
weighs tons. Has not been made as unreliable in GPL as it really was in '67
6)Cooper: Stable and easy to drive, but overweight, and engine isn't good
enough
7)BRM. Could've been great, but torque curve is abysmal, it handles like a
bus, and weighs about the same. sounds nice though.
Factually, it would be the Lotus.
IMHO, I enjoy the Honda more than any other car in GPL.

Personally I don't like the F1 Brabham or Eagle but the F3 or F2
Brabham is okay.
A good F1 car for rookies is the Cooper.

It is a real challange to set up well, but once you hit the sweet spot it
handles like a dream. Because of the poor torque and extra weight it makes
you concentrate on your lines and become a better driver as a result.
And there is nothing more satisfying than thrashing a lotus driver with it
;)
