I might have found a way to make your pit the first (front) pne on pit road!
I was messing around with the IndyCar michigan.txt file last night and I
made mine the first stall onstead of the last, but we were on the track
instead of in the pits.. pitting on the track isn't fun... all you have to
do is mess with any tracks .txt file, the line that says PIT or PITS, mess
around with those numbers.. if we all work together, maybe we can do it
right someday... it's a good start!

just so we can get a log going, what were the exact changes you made on
this line in michigan.txt (ie what values were changed)?

damn, i don't have the file anymore... but, this is what i did....

1. MAKE A BACKUP OF THE .TXT FILE!!!!
2. then change all the numbers on the PIT line to 1's...
3. change a group of numbers on the line to something.. (ie, 385463)
4. load up indycar or nascar racing, go to the track and see where your
   are
5. exit, change a few numbers again...
6. enter game, see where pits are...
7. REPEAT STEPS 5 AND 6 alot!!!

ok, start the log now....

Did that done that...a looonnnggg time ago...You will have problems
with the other AIs..some will be in the grass all around the track!! I
have tinkered with it for weeks... Spacing also becomes an issue when
changing the locations..

OK, some people found out how to supposedly change the pit stalls by
changing a line in the txt file of the track. My question is to the
guys at Papyrus...Can you give us a clue to figure these numbers out ?
It would be great if we could qualify, save the race, change the number
to reflect how we qualify the reload the race and race with the right
stall. If you guys at Papyrus can clue us in on the numbers please do,
It would help the game alot.

Thanks
John

John, I think that you should wait for Nascar 2! If they can do it with Hawaii, then I
wouldn't be too worried! :-)

> 5/6/96I got the pits reversed at Atlanta, the only problem though is they are

all are in the first turn on the bottom of the track (In line though).
A little more time and we might figure it out.  I did it by reversing
all the numbers in the txt file for pits.
ex.  first line is 89959, I put 95998.

The problem with "fixing" it that way that is that the AI won't behave properly.
(That's why it wasn't originally done in NCR 1, and why it works in
Hawaii; no AI cars pitting.)
