HELP!!!! Race setups for GP2

by Naylo » Tue, 16 Sep 1997 04:00:00

I'm looking for fast race setups for GP2, not qualifying setups.  I can
find hundreds of really fast setups, but they only last a lap or two before
the engine blows, the tyres wear out or the gearbox fails, etc. etc.

I want one that will last the full distance of a race, for all the
circuits.

Thanks,

Naylor...

Perhaps try using the default car settings, and disable the "Random
Breakdowns" feature?  Just a thought...

go to Eric Cotes page for some very good race and qualifying setups and
other useful files. Very good page and has helped me a lot.

It can be found at http://infoweb.magi.com/~ericcote/gp2menu.html

> Yeah....well, a good setup is vital for a fast qual/race lap, but a

the best setup will not suit all driving styles......a bad driver with a
good
setup can still rip the tyres up or run into the armco!  Best thing is
to learn
how to set the car up for your driving style and improve your technique.

However, other peoples setups are available from most GP2 sites.

Good luck

One of the *easiest* ways to get a *race* set-up is to find a *fast*
set-up you are happy with, which you use for qualifying or hotlaps, and
tone it down a little, this will result in the set-up lasting much longer?

To tone it down, adjust the settings to a more conservative level, most
fast set-ups have the car on the limit during a lap.

If you increase grip a little (increase the wings) reduce the gear ratios
a little, and move the brake bias slightly to the rear, and increase ride
height and suspension settings slightly, you will get a slightly slower
car, but the tyres, brakes, engine, etc will last a lot longer?

Try it and see......
