Getting New CPU Chip-Advice?

"So, if I am understanding (I am just not much of a hardware guy-so I
appreciate any advice) the first thing I might want to try is to
upgrade the video card?  The 'hardware guy' I do most of my business
with is not really a gamer so he and I need a little direction as to
which way to go.  I have been really happy with the GForce cards I have
had...is there a GForce anyone would specifically recomend. "

Yeah, the first thing is definitely the video card.  A 6800GS would do
you well (it's a "GForce" card).  Like:

Not really in the same territory, but if you buy an X2 Processor and the
eVGA GeForce 7800GXT at the same time, there is a $100 instant discount at
NewEgg.

At least with the 4800+ X2.  Not sure about the rest.

Hey, when you're spending $1900 on computer upgrade parts, $100 helps :)

Yes.  NewEgg.  When you select the processor, you'll see the bundle option
underneath.

Ditto for the card.  Either one will report the other as a bundle option.
