Attention: "Nail That Track" Drivers and *Prospective* Drivers
Bitten by the highly contagious "Nail That Track" bug? No wonder. The
consistently high quality fields and mature, competent drivers bring serious
praise from experienced veterans like Chris Cavin, who commented "This was
the most courteous race I've ever been in" after one recent victory. At
"Nail That Track" we place a premium on not just speed, but also control and
sportsmanship.
So the popularity of the series is understandable. Unfortunately, popularity
has a bit of a price. It seems that some enthusiasts are logging into NTT
directly and bypassing VROC. When this happens, there's no way for GPL or
VROC to limit the size of our fields to match available bandwidth. To remedy
this, beginning Wednesday, March 10, the "Nail That Track" Training Race
Series will shift to password-protected operation. (For the next few days,
there will be a late registration session at race time in one of the VROC
open rooms)
We're enthusiastic that this move will insure the quality competition and
top-notch connections on which our reputation is being built. Thanks for all
your enthusiasm and support!
Registration Procedure:
Each upcoming race will appear in our schedules with an alphanumeric Race ID
enclosed in parentheses. The registration process is easy. Simply drop an
just include the desired Race ID and your Racing License Number. Racing
License Number!?! Don't worry, you'll get that from us when you receive you
first race password. If you don't yet have a license number, just include
the following: RLN: 0000 in your subject line.
So your subject line will look like this, for example: RID: 1305 RLN: AB12.
where "1305" is the Race ID (RID) for the March 10 Rouen Race, as an
example, and "AB12" is an example of a Racing License Number (RLN).
When we receive your registration, you will receive the password for your
requested event via return e-mail. Race slots are available on a first-come
first-served basis beginning at 11:00am EST (1600 GMT) on the day of the
event. If the field for your event fills prior to receipt of you request,
you will be notified that you have been placed on the wait list for the
event. Registered drivers who have not arrived in the pits 15 minutes after
the official start of practice will forfeit their position on the grid to
wait-listed drivers. Registration requests received prior to 11:00am EST
will
not be accepted.
It's a simple process that insures that you realize the most from your time
spent racing online. If you have questions, drop me a note. Otherwise, we'll
see you at the track!
