Rally Masters: Wheel settings

Guys, can anyone help me with the wheel settings in RM? The slightest
movement seems to make me do a 180. Can't get the feel at all...

    Colin, I don't use force feed back but here are some settings you
can try.

Brakes
Dead Zone=0
Range=188
Curve=12
Scale=128

Gas
Dead Zone=0
Range=128
Curve=20
Scale=128

Steering
Dead Zone=4
Range=144
Curve=32
Scale=128

Hope these help! If you improve with experimenting let me know!

Thanks a lot, Pete, very kind of you! I also got this letter from one of the
Blackhole guys, with his settings, so I'll be trying both -

"I've toyed with Rally Masters a bit and I really like the
graphics and game play. I also like the fact that there's not much setup
involved in the game. It's pretty much: get in and drive.

Here are my figures.
Wheel
Dead zone        4
Range           212
Curve             16
Scale            152

Accelerator
Dead zone     12
Range          136
Curve            64
Scale           132

Brake
Dead zone    36
Range         184
Curve             0
Scale            80

NOw let me explain some of these numbers and what they do. Deadzone is a no
brainer probably. It just gives you a little play in the wheel to make it
less twichy in the middle. Range sort of allows a 50k potentiometer to act
the same as a 200k. Curve is the important one in my way of thinking. If you
would plot the angle of the front wheel on a graph as you turn the wheel,
this will allow a more non-linear path of the wheels. The numbers IMO go the
wrong way. Actually in RM the lower the Curve # the more non-linear the
curve is. A lower curve number in RM lets you have a slower response in the
middle range of the wheel. Say from 30 degrees off center in each direction.
The when you get the car sideways and need a big steering correction to
catch the car out of a spin and you really have to crank the wheel to save
it. Then you get more response at the outer extents of the wheel path. If
it's still too sensitve on the outer range of wheel movement then lower the
scale quite a bit. Your computer will see less input when you turn the wheel
to the extremes of it's range. I hope this helps. If you try these numbers
for the Brake, you may need to set them differently than mine. I have a
overdrive gear set on my brake pedal and it need a different setting to feel
right to me. Again Curve is the most important setting. <=== IMHO . If your
braking feels good the way you have it set, don't feel compelled to use my
settings. Another tip might be to set the brake response the same as the
Accelerator setting."
