Can anybbody get this game to work on a Windows 95b system with
DirectX6.  I have two Monster 3dII 8MB cards, a Diamond Stealth s220,  64MB
SDRAM, and  a SBPCI 128 sound card.  The game installs but I can't set up my
Microsoft FF Wheel.  I've tried the Rendition mode, the 3dfx patch, and the
normal executable.  Is there something I am missing.  I really like Nascar
2, and I don't want to get Nascar 99 yet.  Anybody have any ideas?

First off, DirectX6 has nothing to do with N2, but do not delete it.

The rest of the setup looks fine.  What processor do you have.  I suggest at
least a P166 for this game.  Also, the 3D video cards aren't jack with
UNIVBE installed.  To uninstall univbe, delete the "univbe.drv" and the
"uvconfig.dat" files out of you \Nascar2 directory.  This should help.

I read somewhere that MS FF wheel doesn't work well in dos.  Since N2
runs in dos, that could be the problem.  Perhaps someone can confirm
whether this is true or not.

Try using the keyboard as control.  If the game runs fine, then it's
the FF wheel.

Thanks for the reply.  I have a AMD k62/300 Mhz system.  The game use to
run fine when I first got it, but you know with all the changes, games don't
change.  When I got the game, I didn't even have a Voodoo accelerator.  I
had a Creative Labs Blaster 4MB.  It used the Rendition v1000 chip.  But now
I have tons of changes on my system, it doesn't work right.  I had to chunk
a lot of games to the closet of give em away because they won't work with
the new software or hardware.  If there is something you could suggest other
than suggesting that I revert to my old system, forget it.  I  just have to
get the sequel.  I just learned that it doesn't support force feedback, so I
won't worry about Nascar 1999.  Need for Speed III should tide me over for
now.  Now I'm going to try and get European Air War.  Again thanks for the
response and Happy ***.  By the way here's a list of all the games I had
to chunk because of new changes to my computer, if you are interested.

Moto Racer - Too easy anyway
Need for Speed
Need for Speed Se - I loved this one
Nascar 2
Dungeon Keeper - Didn't even finish it
F22 Lightning - Great graphics, My first flight simulator

From personal experience, I can verify that this is true.

There have been about 2 people in 1000 that have gotten it to work, and
it's only because they were lucky and got the wheel calibrated.  As soon
as they try to re-calibrate, or they loose their calibration file, the
party is over...
