TOCA 2 stopped wroking

This is probably one of those quirks of Win 95/98 that only one person has
(in this case me) that usually only goes away when your reformat the ol HD
but I'll ask anyway. Played TOCA 2 as usual last night and just before going
to bed because my Microphone volume seemed to be playing up I decided to
reinstall my SBLive! software (latest Liveware 2). I uninstalled it all and
reinstalled it. Now today I can't get TOCA 2 working. It loads to the menus
and some menu are accessible (?) but when you go to controllers then Player
One then hit enter it stays locked and when you hit enter again it goes back
to the desktop. Same when you go to the Start Race, Championship then go
Enter to next screen it locks and Enter ends you back to the desktop.
Uninstalled the game even took out everything on it in the registry.
Reinstalled it. No go. Reinstalled DX6.1core.exe runtime. Still no go. Redid
the game and let IT install DX6 and DXMedia 6. No go. I thought it might be
the joystick so redid that as SBLive uses it's settings in Device Manager
instead of under Sound, Video and Game controllers (why is that by the
way?). I give up. GPL still works OK, so does Sports Car GT. ONCE it crashed
with a illegal program errror and the details were something about error in
D3DIM.? I forget what the extension was. Probably DLL or VXD I guess. So it
could be D3D related. But why. I have a 12 MEG Voodoo 2 and a Savage 4 32
MEG and I tried both drivers but neither worked. Same crash with both. I had
been using Voodoo 2 anyway as it is a bit better. Sorry about the length but
if you're going to get help more info is better than too little. PIII 450 by
the way. Win 98. 128 MEG RAM.
