I don't know about you,but if there will be '94 drivers,it will
feel little odd for me to drive against Ratzenberger and Senna(R.I.P.).

Agreed. But I imagine (hope?) they will have updated to the end of
'94 or, better yet, and more likely, the '95 cars and drivers. Don't
forget that those screen shots are definitely old - I would think that
the game will reflect '95. If not, let's hope the editors follow
shortly after the release. Let's hope they do anyway! Trevor?

Let's hope they negotiate a deal to produce data files with the new
circuit layouts used in 1995 (and the new car designs and styles).
I think it will be very difficult to write a car editor for F1GP II,
as each car is a completely different shape, and presumably each car
will be constructed from a varying number of polygons. The fact that
the game is almost certainly going to be available on read-only CD-ROM
will also complicate matters ... Arghh! how do you write to an executable
file or graphic files that are stored on CD-ROM :-) It's certainly not
something I'd like to write. Of course, if Microprose had any sense,
they'd have already discussed file formats and technical details with
the many authors who have written patches and editors for F1GP V1,
extending the life of what is now a very old game by a couple of years.
My guess is that this hasn't happened. Imagine if F1GP II had a Dynamic
Data Exchange interface so you could write a Windows app to read/write
it's properties on the fly!
If they have got the 1994 circuits, then I'll be very disappointed.
For one thing, remember that for the 1994 season, Spa was blighted by
that stupid chichane directly in the middle of Eau Rouge. I can't imagine
braking down to under 100MPH to go through Eau Rouge. Then, wasn't it
Barcelona where they constructed a temporary tyre chichane at the end of
one of the straights? On the other hand, I'd be quite happy if Geoff
has fixed the circuit layouts as they were supposed to be at the start
of the 1994 season (it's my guess that this is what will happen).
Incidentally, during the period I was offering shareware support for
my Amiga editor, F1Ed, I received a letter from someone who had friends
in the software industry. Apparently, Microprose had originally
intending to produce a 1992 upgrade disk for the Amiga version of F1GP
which would have featured new car designs and tracks. However, the
FIA in their infinite wisdom decided to license the Championship to
(wait for it, this will make you cringe!) *Domark* If anyone remembers
that ***arcade game effort they released, you'll know why I cringe
everytime I remember that letter!

Oh yeah, the one that turned a stupid death trap of a hill/corner
complex into a pretty good outbraking spot? Yeah, what a tragedy...
Personally, I don't give a monkey's what is in the game. As long
as it's fun to play I'll be happy.

You can put the sim on your HD so there's no problem with writing to the
data files as long as you have enough HD space left over to the sim which
you will make if you don't have it already.:)
I am almost certain that everything temporary will not be found in F1GP2.
It would be plain stupid to include what I consider unaesthetically
obstacles which effectively destroy the tracks!

Do you know when will World Circuit II come to the stores?
Thanks

Right on! (As long as all ***temporary chicanes are removed)
