Motocross Madness 2 is the best, IMO.
While the jumping is still a little exagerrated, it's much better
than the first game. The tracks also look much more like their real
life counterparts, although their are still some goofy tracks for the
enduro events.

MX2000 has nice graphics, but REALLY hokey track designs (riding
through tunnels, etc...), and I didn't like the controls. They were
assignable, but the problem I had was that they were overly sensitive,
resulting in constant over-controlling.

Not only is motocross madness 2 the better game...it's one of the great (at
least in this group) overlooked racing gems out there.  I know that as a
"sim" newsgroup, it's natural that there is extra focus here on a game's
realism....but if you are willing to try a game and judge it by its quality,
playability, expandability and just plain fun...both online and off...I
think you'll find that mcm2 is a great bargain and one that really strikes
the right balance between realism, challenge, graphical quality, and
replayability.  And there are still 200+ people racing it online daily on
Microsoft's Zone and probably now thousands of user made tracks to check
out.  By all means...get it!

MCM2 is one of my top 3 racing games of any kind. Its more fun than GPL or
Nascar Heat ,and has a near perfect balance between arcade and sim
qualities. Being able to make your own tracks makes it even more special,
riding around in enviroments you have created. It's one of the greatest
videogames ever made. Also, if you like MCM2 then you will also love ATV
FURY on the Playstation 2.

What is the track editor like?  Is it limited to making "more or less
hills", with "more or less obstacles"?  or can you get right down to the
nitty gritty and make your own terrain in a 3d graphics package, and add
ramps etc?
