Now, how about an endurance sim with the Targa Florio (Piccolo Madonie
Circuit -- only 47 miles!), then a recreation of the Mille Miglia!
Wonder what it would take to code 1000 miles of Italian roads, villages,
mountains, lakes...

Ditto!
Actually, how's it going to fit into memory? And if it doesn't, does
Papyrus have a foolproof background loading system that won't put pauses
in our racing?

Conventional wisdom (well Jackie Stewart anyway) maintains that its
almost impossible to learn this track. Then again, he didn't have it
on their desktop to drive whenever he wanted :)

It is called "In Car 956". Derek Bell was the driver. It features laps
of a bunch of tracks in a Rothmans 956 including the Nurburgring.
I think Classic Motorbooks or EWA may have it.
It's fantastic.
Cheers.

"In Car 956"It is driven by Derek Bell, and although the circuit isn't
exactly the same, it is much the same. The Flugplatz and the section by
the pits is different. The tape has also got Kyalami:)
Try www.dukemarketing.com
or something. I know Duke Marketing are on the net!

: I'm not suprised to hear this. Sometimes, at say Elkart Lake, your
: concentration can slip and it takes you a while to remember what part of
: the track your on and what to do next. I imagine that this will pretty
: much always be a part of the Ring. Something like learning one of those
: NFS tracks X 10. The mind boggles :)
I now greatly appreciate how <shift-R> puts you back on the
adjacent track, and not return you to the pits!

This has always been a dream of mine. I would give up my
first-born to be able to take Stirling Moss's place behind the SLR's wheel!
As he once said [roughly]: It's one thing go fast round a corner in the
middle of a field. It's another thing to go fast around a blind corner
between a mountain and a ravine.
Then again, it's another thing entirely to do this in the safety
of your own home!

Nigel Mansell RIP!
OK...after the Mille and the Targa Florio, how about the Carrera Pan-America. My
step-dad crewed the Fletcher Porsches in '55. I'd love to be able to race him
one time on the circuit he has raved about lo these many years! And then
there's the Pikes Peak Hillclimb...wouldn't it be a blast to drive one of those
converted Indy Cars up Unser Mountain! Of course what we really need is time to
drive all these cool new sims....
