Papyrus split up!

According to the Cnet game center, Papyrus has been split.

http://www.racesimcentral.net/

Rick Genter and others have left for the new team, 5d Games
At first, I was e***d, thinking "Finally, maybe we can get a chance
for someone with Papyrus' talents to make something other than
Indy/Nascar!" - Unfortunately it turns out that they will NOT be doing
racing games.

What's worse is that they left *because* Sierra apparently has been
very inflexible with them, which suggests that Sierra has no interest
in developing a non Indy/Nascar game.

I don't mean to be sounding too many alarms - please don't flame! -
but it seems that Papyrus may end up becoming creatively stifled.
I hope another company will be willing to pick up the ball if that
turns out to be true.

Two items of advice to whomever that may be -
1 - There's all kinds of racing beyond mere Indy/Nascar
2 - True physics is what gives the game it's feel,
and the feel is what makes it fun.

And along those lines, my understanding is that Dave Kaemmer is the
physics GOD at Papyrus, and he is still there as far as I know.

Yes, some people have left Papyrus.  That happens every day at companies
around the world.  But I can assure you, the core group responsible for
our racing sims is still at Papyrus and doing very well thank you :).  I
can also tell you that Sierra has done nothing to stifle our creativity
here at Papyrus.  Our success has been built on quality racing titles.  We
will never abandon that.  This doesn't mean we won't explore other game
genres.  So, don't worry, Papyrus is still here and going very strong on
our future titles.

Adam,

I truly hope this is all true.  IMHO we won't be able to determine the
truth, until NASCAR 3 (or a new racing sim) gets released from you
guys.  NASCAR 2 doesn't count, since you had a start on that before
the Sierra deal. :)  Papyrus sims are one of the few I buy without
waiting for a demo or review.  Sierra OTOH, I despise!

Are you questioning the truth of Adam's post?  If so, why?  What
reason would he have to stretch the truth?

No, not questioning Adam at all.  Sierra just seems to have a way of
screwing a good thing up.  (IMO)  Their (Sierra) idea of "realistic"
is often much different than most.  (this is relating to flight sims).
Which, to be honest is the only software I have to base an opinion on.
As far as I know, they haven't done any type of a racing sim?
